Now, I may get some hate for saying this, but I have yet to see the original, downright classic Trainspotting. I know I know, but it’s kind of difficult to make that happen when you’re only 4 years old at the time of its release. Anyway, with the long-awaited, long-overdue sequel just a few months out, I will no doubt be checking out the original before then. Until then, I’ll just be gobbling up each and every new piece of T2 Trainspotting revealed, including what follows.
As for an “official” synopsis for the Danny Boyle film, don’t bother looking because there isn’t one, nor does there need to be. Every description of the film basically comes down to this, it’s a sequel/continuation of the original 1996 film. And if you’ve seen the original and/or anything on the follow-up, you know that that’s the perfect kind of description for this film. As with most unique films these days, it’s a true breath of fresh air to get a chance to watch a film like this in an age when we see a gigantic blockbuster or action packed comic book movie every weekend. I’ll be walking into the theater to see this film just as I did last year with Shane Black’s The Nice Guys, expecting to have a damn good time.
Like I said above, I have yet to see the original film. While to many that may seem very unfortunate, I look at it a very different way. I literally have no clue what the hell to expect from either the first or second film. I’m going in blind. And in a day when everything is plastered everywhere, that’s very exciting.
Check out the new clips and images below, and after doing so, head down to the comments and let us know your thoughts! Are you a fan of the original? How excited are you for the sequel? Are you going in fresh just as I am? Danny Boyle’s T2 Trainspotting rides into theaters on April 7th, 2017 and stars Ewan McGregor, Ewen Brenner, Jonny Lee Miller, and Robert Carlyle.
