Well folks, 2017 is now a week underway, which means news outlets across the country are beginning to preview what the year will be holding for film. The most recent comes from USA Today, who just debuted their 2017 preview. And while it features a ton of new looks at titles like Alien: Covenant and Transformers: The Last Knight, the best look comes from Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
We’ve known for a while now what the team of superheroes will look like standing together, but the following image is by far the coolest. Although there’s no Superman in site, it looks like the new-found team is preparing for some kind of fight, as I doubt Arthur Curry would get all dressed up for any other occasion.
Let’s take a closer look. First up: Ben Affleck’s Batman. While I’m not the biggest fan of Zack Snyder’s Nite Owl version of the Dark Knight, Snyder is clearly still taking inspiration from Frank Miller, as Bats’ suits aren’t your everyday cape and cowl. Next to Batman is Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. There isn’t much to say about Princess Diana, as she isn’t rocking a new outfit, although, she looks pretty pissed to be wherever she is.
The next three is where we get to the good stuff. In the center of the fab five, to clearly make a statement on looks, it Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher. We wouldn’t think any other way because of the comics, but this character is clearly a fully CGI created character, whereas The Flash, played by Ezra Miller, is the complete opposite and almost seems to be held together by some seriously strong wire. I may be in the minority, but I’m not too sold on either of these costumes, but I’m withholding any kind of doubt about the characters until I see what they look like in action (please don’t screw this up!).
And finally, we have the King of Atlantis. Jason Momoa’s Aquaman has been at the center of everything Justice League to this point, as he’s clearly the most exciting character going into this long-awaited movie. But what’s most interesting is that every time we see him, he seems to be rocking different duds. The main photo from Justice League up to now has featured Aquaman wearing a much more armored type suit, whereas the one he can be seen in above looks more like a battle-ready suit, one he can kick a serious amount of ass in. Just as with Cyborg and The Flash, I’m taking my time getting used to this punk-rock version of Aquaman, but as the film draws closer, I’m starting to like it more and more. Again, it’ll be interesting to see how Zack Snyder uses this character and his powers in the action.
On a side note, I can’t help but look at this image and ask myself when the Justice League‘s next concert is… Now that you’ve heard my thoughts, let me know your opinions below in the comments. What stands out the most to you? Anything yo don’t like? Let us know how you really feel. Snyder’s Justice League smashes into theaters on November 17th, 2017.
