New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Trailer: Showtime for the A-Holes

Hell yeah! Marvel has revealed the new, first full-length trailer for the upcoming James Gunn directed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Also written by Gunn, the funky sequel reunites the MCU’s a-holes of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Baby Groot to battle a new deep space threat, as well as search for Peter Quill’s father.

This is an insanely incredible trailer they’ve put together. It not only feels like a pure and natural evolution from its predecessor, but the trailer features close to no revealing footage. There was some fantastic visuals and set pieces within the trailer, but I think Marvel knew that audiences were more invested in the characters and their relationships with one another, which is exactly what the trailer delivers. The chemistry, the jokes, the excitement, it was all there in full force.

I would also be wrong if I didn’t mention baby Groot and how no other element of this film has a chance of topping him. There’s about a 1000% chance that Baby Groot will steal every waking moment he’s on screen, and that’s not a bad thing. While we’d miss characters such as Star-Lord or Drax and his “over-the-head” humor, I think it’s safe to say everyone and everyone they know would be bouncing off-the-walls if Marvel announced a Rocket and Baby Groot spinoff. I’m guessing you screeched out in excitement and laughter the moment you heard his high-pitched voice as well?

Check out he brand new, psychedelically awesome new trailer below, and please do not forget to let me know your thoughts in the comments. How many times did you watch it? What was your favorite part? What are you most excited for? James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5th, 2017 and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Kurt Russell, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Elizabeth Debicki, Pom Klementieff, and Glenn Close.
