New ‘Rogue One’ IMAX & Dolby Exclusive Posters Are B-E-A-Utiful

I am absolutely eating every new promotional piece released for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. I’ve tried my best to stay away from any new footage since its so-called “final” trailer, but just haven’t been able to stay away as best as I hoped because the footage has been so damn good (and plastered everywhere). At Felicity Jones & Diego Luna in Rogue One: A Star Wars Storythis point, my anticipation for this film is higher than I ever thought it would be. Not as much as The Force Awakens last year, but it is damn near close.

The latest pieces of promos are works of art, as two brand new posters for the highly, highly-anticipated, first ever Star Wars spinoff have been revealed. With the film now just a month away, marketing will no doubt be amped up leading up to its release (eeeek!) here in a handful of weeks, with these new posters leading the way. The first is the official IMAX poster, which if the movie chain stays to tradition, the poster will be handed out to fans opening night (please, please, please). The second is Dolby Cinema’s exclusive poster, which may be one of the film’s best so far, giving off a very heavy Full Metal Jacket vibe.

Quite frankly, these are two of the best looking posters I’ve seen lately, and that isn’t because of my complete love for this franchise. Both, keeping it inside the Star Wars universe, are something way outside the box when it comes to posters for the galaxy far, far away. Being one who will without a doubt be seeing this film in IMAX on opening night, I cannot wait to get my freaking hands on that IMAX only poster. As for Dolby’s, it’s just as good. You may be thinking, “Why? It only shows Stormtroopers and a helmet?”. That may be true, but it’s because what I mentioned above. If this film is playing a Full Metal Jacket vibe and taking inspiration from one of Kubrik’s best, I’m more sold than ever.

Take a look at the new Rogue One posters below and let us know your thoughts in the comments. What kind of anticipation level do you have for this movie? How happy have you been with the trailers? Does anything worry you? Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters in a galaxy near you on December 16th, 2016.
