Just in time for Halloween, Sony has released the first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi horror movie Life. The film centers around a crew aboard the International Space Station who discover and come into contact with the first ever living organism on Mars. As the crew begins to research the newly discovered life, it proves much more dangerous than ever imagined.
It’s directed by Daniel Espinosa, and although he has a few so-so received movies (Safe House, Child 44), the story for Life actually looks pretty promising. There’s some good blocks within the trailer, and I’d imagine much of that comes from Zombieland and Deadpool writers Rhett Reeseand Paul Wernick, who are behind this script. And when it comes tot cast, it’s close to perfect with Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation breakout Rebecca Ferguson leading the film with some very strong supporting cast members around them. With the director/writers combo Life has, I’m very interested in seeing the kind of tone it displays, although I’m hoping it fully embraces the sci-fi horror.
Take a look at the first trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments. Did you like it? Are you intrigued? What about the cast? Espinosa’s Life hits theaters on May 26th, 2017 and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson, Olga Dihovichnaya, Ariyon Bakare, and Hiroyuki Sanada.
