Here’s Your First Look at the ‘Jumanji’ Sequel Starring Dwayne Johnson & Kevin Hart

When the Jumanji remake was first announced, it was a bitter-sweet feeling for many fans. On one note, modern day visuals could be a fantastic update, but, it starred the late great Robin Williams. Something many can’t get passed. While that feeling may still be felt, the casting choices have opened up a bright spot for the remake. Just a few weeks ago Dwayne Johnson revealed a first look piece of concept art that showcased his character Dr. Smolder Bravestone. Now, thanks to both Kevin Hart and Johnson, we have our first official look at the remakes main cast.

The movie is set to follow-up the 1995 Joe Johnston original that starred Williams, Kirsten Dunst, and Bonnie Hunt and stars Johnson, Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. And in the first look image, we get a look at each of the main players we’ll be journeying along this board game with. As for the story, it’s unclear at this point how the said sequel will connect to the original, but what I can get from the image, the movie may very well be taking place inside the board game this time, rather than the board game coming to life.

Johnson has claimed that his character Bravestone is a homage to Indiana Jones, and his costume definitely screams adventurer. And while both Hart and Black’s costumes look they fit the setting as well, Gillan’s does seem a bit out of place. But worry not, Johnson, while posting an image of the cast himself, reassured fans that “her jungle wardrobe will make sense when you know the plot.”

Take a look at the first look image below and don’t forget to let us know your thoughts in the comments. Are you excited for a new Jumanji? Do you like the cast? Is there anything that worries you? Joe Johnston’s Jumanji is set to open on July 28th, 2017.
