Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before in All the Latest ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Footage

Star Trek Beyond may not have gotten off to the hottest start, but it sure is finishing strong. Its debut was a so-so trailer that many people liked, but much more didn’t. But ever since then, the right amount and right footage combination has been released, leading up to its release this weekend. Now that it is just days away, Paramount has been releasing new footage like wildfire, which continues to build anticipation for those already excited, but more importantly is trying to sway those non-believers.

I know for at least myself, the biggest concern going into this third movie has been having Justin Lin in the director’s chair. Nothing against Lin as he did a fantastic job with the Fast & Furious franchise, but that’s exactly it, Trek isn’t fast or furious. It’s a completely different ballgame, one I couldn’t see Lin tackling the proper way. But lucky enough for myself and fans across the world, early reviews for the sci-fi adventure threequel are highly positive, some even going as far as calling it the most classic Trek of the rebooted franchise. Now, of course, film is subjective and everyone forms their own opinion, but this is the kind of news that puts a little glimmer in your eye. Sure, all the latest footage (which you can see below) has been great, but that can definitely be misleading. But as far as Justin Lin and his Beyond goes, that may not be the case.

Check out all the latest footage for Star Trek Beyond below, including clips, TV spots, and featurettes. And don’t forget to return to Apocaflix! this weekend for not just our take on the threequel, but to give us your thoughts as well. Are you excited? Have you enjoyed the franchise reboot thus far? Why or why not? Justin Lin’s Star Trek Beyond hits theaters this Friday and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Sofia Boutella, and Idris Elba.
