While Suicide Squad is the DC movie everyone is currently buzzing about, the next entry into the DCEU will go in a very different direction and it has a lot of people excited. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman was easily a standout in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year, and while fans were already excited for the first female-led superhero movie, the small teases through Batman v Superman got more than just fans looking forward to go back in time with this character.
Now that we’re just a handful of weeks away from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman seems a sure bet to be the center of Warner Bros. Comic-Con panel next week. It’s the biggest week of the year for studios and fans, as a flurry of news (that we’ve probably been waiting for) will finally be revealed. As every big magazine outlet does, they preview the event with an issue that includes every major title that will be in attendance, and Entertainment Weekly’s cover for 2016 is none other than Diana Prince. There’s no doubt that we’ll be getting a ton of new tidbits about the World War I set comic book movie in the next week or so, and more than likely the first trailer. And in preparation, EW has released a couple of new images to get us excited for what’s to come. Just from images and comments so far, this take on the Wonder Woman story sounds outstanding, with plenty to be excited about.
See the images both above and below, and make sure to jump in the comments and let us know your thoughts on everything Wonder Woman, including your anticipation level for the movie. Also, don’t forget to bookmark us here at Apocaflix! as we’ll be ramping out news left and right while covering SDCC next weekend. Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2nd, 2017 and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui.
Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
