The first trailer for the boxing biopic Bleed for This has been released. The film, directed by Ben Younger, stars Miles Teller as five-time World Boxing Champion Vinny Pazienza and tells the story of his career-ending car accident and his pure determination to get back into the ring during and following his recovery.
I really, very much enjoyed this trailer. Miles Teller is an undeniable talent, one who has become a household name in the last few years (watch Whiplash). I’m very excited to see him take on this role, as I believe this is one he has needed. We’ve seen him play the College student, the pretty boy, the superhero, now I want to see what he can do with a real character such as Vinny Pazienza. And what I also love about this trailer is that there are a ton of different emotions going on. It opens great, showing us who “The Pazmanian Devil” is, then shifts to heart-wrenching images of the tragic car accident and everything that follows. I was pulled right in, hooked instantly. I’m always in for an awesome, badass boxing movie, but especially one that’s based on a true story like Vinny Pazienza.
