‘Fast 8’: Video Update Shows Jason Statham with Toretto’s Crew

The Fast & Furious crew not only treat each other like family, but also its fans. Other than Star Wars and Marvel, this franchise is likely the one who are most involved with its fans. Whether its social media updates from franchise stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, or video’s like the one below, Fast 8 wants those responsible (the fans) to know how the latest installment is shaping up.

This week’s video, part of the This Week on the Set of #F8 series of behind the scenes videos, mark the first time the entire crew was on set together. Returning in Toretto’s crew for the eighth installment are Tyrese, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, Natalie Emmanuel, and are joined by Kurt Russell (as Mr. Nobody) and Scott Eastwood.

Also present on set was Jason Statham, who returns as Deckard Shaw. The last time we saw this baddie, he was locked up in a maximum security prison. Now it could be a simple case as Statham was on set the same day as the entire crew, but his character doesn’t look like an inmate at a high security prison. I’m curious to see if he’s now working with Toretto’s crew to bring down the new villain, Cipher (played by Charlize Theron). Its not out of the realm of possibility, especially when considering a character like Mr. Nobody, who already managed to get Toretto and his crew to do something highly dangerous for him. Its all speculation on my part, but it would be an interesting twist for a franchise that’s very self-aware of itself by now. I‘m curious to know how you feel about Jason Statham temporarily joining forces with Toretto & Hobbs?
