Lupita Nyong’o has enjoyed a pretty successful career thus far. After winning an Oscar in her big screen debut 12 Years of Slave, the actress has gone on to star in some major blockbuster hits, such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Jungle Book. Her great personality and humbleness has helped her create an excellent relationship with Disney, as her next film Queen of Katwe (produced by the Mouse House) will release this September.
From one Disney owned property (Lucasfilm) to another (Marvel), Lupita Nyong’o is reportedly in talks to star in the upcoming Black Panther solo movie. Details on the role are thin, but sources say it’ll likely be a love interest. Which ever role it ends up being, one things for sure. Black Panther will feature some serious talent, both in front of and behind the camera, with Ryan Coogler (Creed) directing and Chadwick Boseman (Civil War) in the lead role.
The anticipation for a Black Panther solo movie is high, with Boseman give a great performance as T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War. Although its unconfirmed, I’m expecting both Martin Freeman (as Everett K. Ross) and Andy Serkis (as Ulysses Klaw) to return as well. Filming is expected to begin sometime towards the end of the year.
Black Panther will release on February 16, 2018
