‘Captain America: Civil War’ IMAX Poster Asks You to Choose a Team

Captain America: Civil War is coming and coming fast. The first summer movie of the year is now under two weeks away. With press screenings and the press tour well underway, the anticipation for Marvel’s latest is at an all-time high, and rightfully so.

Captain America: Civil War IMAX PosterWhile Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may be considered the biggest movie of the year, I believe that title goes to Civil War. Sure, Dawn of Justice has two of the biggest and most popular comic book character of all-time, but Civil War is the culmination of 8 years of planning, building, and executing a cinematic universe. Five standalone franchises (not including Guardians of the Galaxy), two Avengers movies, an abundance of characters, and we are just as excited to see the next chapter of this universe as we were to start it.

We’ll no doubt be rushing to theaters to see these heroes face off against one another, but another exciting element is just that, all the heroes featured. As far as characters, this is easily the biggest movie Marvel has done yet. Not only are we getting original Avenger members of Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, but other heroes who have debuted along the way such as Winter Soldier, War Machine, Falcon, Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch, and Vision. Not to mention the long-awaited big screen debut for Blank Panther and the glorious homecoming of Marvel’s teenage wall-crawler Spider-Man. Now do you see why I think this is 2016s biggest movie?

When you think of all those heroes not just sharing the screen, but going toe-to-toe with one another, it’s pure nerdgasm. It’s something that fans of these characters never expected to see hit the big screen. Footage for the film has been nothing short of phenomenal to this point, and the latest poster for the film continues that without a blink of an eye. In my opinion there is no way to see this film except for IMAX, it just goes without saying. Don’t believe me? Maybe the IMAX poster for the film will change your mind. Look at all those heroes, in one single frame, together. T-mines 12 days.

Joe and Anthony Russo’s Captain America: Civil War hits theaters next week, May 6th, 2016, and it stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman.
