After quite a wait, Disney’s live-action adaptation of their classic animated feature The Jungle Book is finally arriving this week. The Jon Favreau directed film has been steadily building a solid following over the last few months as it’s mightily impressed with footage, images, and more recently, early word of mouth. But before we see if Favreau’s film is what we all hoped, let’s take a look back at the original it comes from, in a different light.
Screen Junkies. Honest Trailers. Yep, that’s right. The folks over at SJ have given the beloved animated classic their honest trailer treatment, and it’s quite a doozy. While some may think it doesn’t hold up to well, the majority consider it a film that many animated features use as a blueprint. As for SJ, they definitely fall in the former. If you are a fan who falls in the latter, I definitely recommend watching this with a bit of caution, it may bring some things to the light of day that you’ve never considered. Otherwise, enjoy Screen Junkies’ latest honest trailer entry, leading into the release of Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book this weekend.
