Its one thing to see the Predator collect the skulls of his victims. I mean he’s THE PREDATOR. However, Star Wars’ latest villain might have taken things a bit too far.
Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) is a young dark force user who so desperately wants to be like his grandfather, Darth Vader. From what we know through The Force Awakens, Kylo betrayed his trainer Luke Skywalker and seemingly destroyed the new Jedi order. He’s even gone as far as killing his old man, Han Solo, just to prove to himself how dark he is. Considering his struggle to stay evil in the film you might say, “this kid is insane”. Well you don’t even know the half of it.
There’s a shot in The Force Awakens where Kylo takes off his helmet in front of Rey (Daisy Ridley). He then places the heavy helmet on top of some ashes. At first, many fans (including myself) thought those were Darth Vader’s ashes, which if so would be incredibly impressive on Kylo’s part. For him to just collect all his ashes on Endor after so many years have passed. However, JJ Abrams revealed (EW) they’re actually the ashes of his enemies that he’s killed. So not only did Kylo kill his enemies with his beserker lightsaber, but also collected the bodies and burned them into ashes for his helmet to rest on. Wow, I just realized that includes Max Von Seydow’s character.
All arguments towards the Kylo Ren character possibly getting redeemed later can now get thrown out the window. There’s no going back for this guy, he’ll forever be dark side. Not a even shampoo in the galaxy will able to cleanse his hair from all the ashes from his sins.
