The Hunger Games franchise is by far, by far the best young adult novel to movie adaptation. The franchise has sent the last four years dominating the box-office and its competition. While that’s the case, many (myself included) will argue that the franchise fell off of its mountain top with the last two movies. Mockingjay – Part 1 had its issues, but to me, Mockingjay – Part 2 had far more. And luckily for me, rather than spitting out a list of problems I had with the film, I can just show you.
Screen Junkies‘ latest entry into their honest trailer segment is none other than Mockingjay – Part 2. The trailer begins by recapping what the franchise has done through its run, but at a certain point it takes a kind of turn I was expecting from the beginning. With no remorse, SJ proceeds to point out every single problem that went down with this franchise’s final chapter, and it’s a pretty good time. In no way does this damper the success the franchise has pulled off through the last handful of years, every YA adaptation since the start of The Hunger Games has tried to catch them, with nobody successfully doing it. But, that doesn’t mean that it was a complete success. While there are many who are fans of Mockingjay – Part 2, the majority of audiences thought it just wasn’t as good as it could’ve/should’ve been, and these are the reasons why.
