Rumor Central: Sylvester Stallone’s Role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Revealed

Sylvester Stallone may not have took home the statue for Best Supporting Actor (Creed), but his nomination seems to be paying off in more ways than one. The veteran actor has received a huge amount of love & support from people all over social media, while gaining some new fans along the way. He’s also found his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Recently, Stallone was spotted visiting the set for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with what looked like a script in hand. Details on his role were unknown at the time, however, speculations began appearing regarding the possibility of his role as Star Lord’s father (a role previously rumored to be Kurt Russell’s). However a new report from Heroic Hollywood reveals a more fitting role for Stallone.

According to the rumor, Stallone will play one of the Ravagers crew members. The Ravagers were an important part of the first film, as they were led by their leader Yondu (Michael Rooker) to track down Star Lord and retrieve the orb. Initially, Stallone’s role was said to be a cameo, but the actor has reportedly shot multiple scenes. No further details on the role are known, including whether or not his character will require make up or CGI (i.e. Nathan Fillion’s cameo).

I just have to say how awesome it will be to see Stallone in what I think will be a small but fun role. An appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is not a bad follow-up to his performance in Creed. This just makes the sequel all the more anticipating.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set to release on May 5, 2017
