Are you excited for Suicide Squad? Well, if you think you’re the most excited, you’re wrong. You know who is the most excited? Harley Quinn herself. HelloGiggles recently sat down with Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie during her press tour for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and got some juicy good stuff out of daddy’s lil’ monster.
While every star promotes their own movie(s), I’ve never actually seen someone as excited as Margot Robbie when talking about Suicide Squad. From the sounds of it, Robbie may actually be heading the stampede of fans that will be lining up for tickets:
I think I’m more excited than anyone about this movie. I’m not even going to pretend to play it cool. I am dying to see it. When people are like “I can’t wait to see it.” I’m like “You’ve got no idea, I want to see it more than you do!” I think it’s going to be so cool, and I just love that there’s a chick character who’s that badass, and who’s actually, like funnier and crazier and stronger than some of the males. I think that rarely happens.
Just as I said, she seems PUMPED. While there was definitely more excitement added to the fire from filming and/or seeing footage, her initial excitement actually came before any of that happened. Robbie later said that she was the first to sign on to the movie, which at the time, had no script and only director David Ayer was attached. It looks like her decision to jump on board has paid off BIG time. Judging from everything we’ve seen from Harley Quinn so far, she’s going to absolutely kill it. I’ll even go as far to say that she will steal the movie and be the ultimate standout by the time the credits roll.
When that outstanding cast list was announced, Robbie was the name that stood out to me the most. I know the Harley Quinn character, and because of the just perfect choice of Robbie, I have a ridiculous amount of confidence in this version of the character they’re (finally) bringing to the big screen.
If you’re interested in more words from Robbie about David Ayer and Suicide Squad, I definitely recommend checking out the interview HelloGiggles recorded in the link I did above. On top of talking about her excitement, Robbie talks about what attracted her to the project in the first place, all the costumes they tested and what classic Harley Quinn costumes we could be seeing in the future. David Ayer’s Suicide Squad laughs its way into theaters August 5th, 2016.
