If you haven’t heard of or seen anything from Hardcore Henry yet, you are surely missing out. A new trailer has been released for the action movie and man is it a doozy. The movie is a first-person action movie through the eyes of Henry, who’s resurrected from the dead with no memory, which sets him on a path to discover who he is and save his wife from a warlord who plans to bio-engineer soldiers. I know movies have featured first-person moments or sequences over the years, but I personally can’t remember a movie that is all from the first-person viewpoint. While I can see many shaking their heads at the idea, it’s hard to deny how completely badass Hardcore Henry looks.
What’s so great about this idea is that we, as viewers, feel like we’re going through the events unfolding on screen. No we aren’t being shot at or thrown down escalators, but that’s the kind if viewpoint experience it gives off. It looks like it has everything we want from an action movie, just with a very unique yet exciting twist. A non-stop, adrenaline-fueled action movie involving gunplay, explosions, fist fights and much more. Come on, how can you not be excited about what you’re seeing?
Directed by Ilya Naishuller and produced by Wanted director Timur Beckmambetov, the movie has a April 8th, 2016 release date and stars Sharlto Copley, Haley Bennett, Danila Kozlovsky, Andrei Dementiev and Svetlana Ustinov.
Hardcore Henry is an action film told from a first person perspective: You remember nothing. Mainly because you’ve just been brought back from the dead by your wife (Haley Bennett). She tells you that your name is Henry. Five minutes later, you are being shot at, your wife has been kidnapped, and you should probably go get her back. Who’s got her? His name’s Akan; he’s a powerful warlord with an army of mercenaries, and a plan for world domination. You’re also in an unfamiliar city of Moscow, and everyone wants you dead. Everyone except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy. He may be on your side, but you aren’t sure. If you can survive the insanity, and solve the mystery, you might just discover your purpose and the truth behind your identity. Good luck, Henry. You’re likely going to need it…
