Heading into its release tomorrow (later tonight really), Paramount has released a last bit of marketing push for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Based on a true story, Tina Fey stars as Kim Baker, a journalist who recounts her time covering the war in Afghanistan and Pakistan in 2002. it also stars Margot Robbie, Martin Freeman, Alfred Molina and Billy Bob Thornton.
Surprisingly, I’m looking forward to this quite a bit. As its gotten closer, I’ve liked what I’ve seen more and more. As most, I’m a fan of Tina Fey when she does this kind of work. Of course she was a legend on SNL, but for movies, she’s at her best when she isn’t doing straight slapstick comedy like last year’s Sisters. She’s proven she’s capable of being a worthy dramatic actor, someone who can hold a presence on screen, which is what I’m looking forward to. Not to mention she has a pretty strong supporting cast around her, starting with the all-around magnificent Margot Robbie.
Watch the new clips and a trio of featurettes below. The videos are followed by a huge batch of images that have been released as well. With it being released tomorrow, jump in the comments and let us know how excited or not excited you are for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Will you be seeing it opening weekend? Why or why not? Come back after you’ve seen it and let us know what you thought!
