The official Facebook page for Fast & Furious has just confirmed release dates for three more installments. Over the past few years, I’ve heard hints from both Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker about the saga going as far as twelve films. Right now, its too early to see if that’ll actually happen. The saga is at an all-time high point, with the most recent film grossing $1.5 billion. Taking that into consideration, I see no reason to not announce future films. Each installment since Fast & Furious has introduced more and more characters that I end up loving.
No updates revealed on Furious 8 regarding the story, except that it takes place in New York City. Regardless, the folks at Universal, Furious 8 director F. Gary Gray, franchise star/producer Vin Diesel, and writer Chris Morgan have definitely mapped out story-lines for the next three films. Just in case you’re thinking this is too much, remember Universal also has plans in producing spin-off films for several characters.
How does three more Fast & Furious movies sound? Would you like to see any characters from the previous movies return? As a huge fan of the saga, I’m curious to know what you think.
