Rumor Central: ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Leaked Info Reveals What Happened to Odin

Thor: Ragnarok is still months away until it begins filming, but there are already so many questions I have. What’s Loki been up to since taking over Asgard? How will Bruce Banner/Hulk be involved in the story? Where in the world is Odin (Anthony Hopkins)? Normally, these kinds of questions wouldn’t get answered until right around the film’s first trailer. However, if this latest Marvel rumor has any truth to it, then I’ve just found out what happened to Odin.

Before we get to the rumor, let’s recap where we last saw Odin. Towards the end of Thor: The Dark World, we see Thor having a discussion with his father (Odin) before leaving to Earth. As Thor leaves, its revealed that Odin is actually Loki in disguise. We get no clues as to what happened to Odin. So it begs the question, is Odin dead or alive?

Potential Spoilers!!!

According to a rumor from Greek.com, Odin will be returning for Thor: Ragnarok. The difference this time is that Odin is no longer “King of Asgard”. When Loki overtook the throne, Odin fled to Midgard wandering the planet “as one of those crazy-looking ‘the end is nigh’ street-corner hobos, warning of the impending apocalypse.” The report also states that at some point in the movie Thor will run into his father on Earth.

Well then… if this rumor is true, then its an interesting turn for the Odin character. The part about him warning of the impending apocalypse has some weight behind it. The term Ragnarok means the end of all things, and maybe Odin can somehow foresee the future. Marvel Boss Kevin Feige has stated since the beginning that terrible things will happen in this film to Asgard and its people.

Keep in mind this Odin reveal is just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. I’m not sure if I believe this rumor, because it would be a drastic fall for the All-Father to suddenly become a crazy old man. That being said, we’re talking about the same franchise that made Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) run bare-naked on live-television in Thor: The Dark World. So don’t rule out the possibility of Anthony Hopkins losing his sh*t on Earth.

I’m very interested to hear your thoughts on this one. Do you buy or sell that Odin has gone mad and fled to Earth? Let me know.
