Jennifer Lawrence has slowly been getting on my nerves lately, but its not as serious as it sounds.
First off, I do love this woman. I love watching her onscreen, because she’s so damn talented as an actress. She’s also very lovable as a person, and has continuously demonstrated her humbleness through all her success in her young career. However, lately she’s been doing some strange stuff. I thought the message behind her letter about Females Getting Equally Paid in Hollywood was very brave and honest. However, someone pointed out to me just how much more she gets paid than he co-stars in films like Hunger Games, X-Men, and most recently Passengers, where she’s making a reported $8 million more than Chris Pratt. That letter wouldn’t be an issue at all, if it was more towards the actual underpaid actresses, instead of how personal it was. Then at last week’s Golden Globes, she spoke too soon and roasted a foreign press member for looking down on his phone while asking her a question. After watching that video, it was clear that speaking English wasn’t the press member’s strong suit, and the question he was asking required him to read it carefully. These things aren’t too big of a deal, but its been on my mind every time her name is mentioned.
Funny thing is that I actually came here to talk about a new potential film she’s co-starring in, because everything this Oscar winning actress does is worth talking about. Instead I began ranting. So Variety is reporting that Javier Bardem is in talks to co-star alongside JLaw in a film with Oscar nominated director, Darren Aronofsky. The untitled project (written by Aronofsky) “centers on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.”
This project is sounding great, because of the combined talent’s potential. Aronofsky is an incredible director, and finally gets to work with an actress like JLaw. Speaking of her, its great to see her doing projects with different directors. Her collaborations with David O’ Russell have been very successful, but I’m also interested in seeing what other talented directors can do with the actress. Javier Bardem can pretty much do anything and he’ll succeed. This will be his first collaboration with JLaw and Aronofsky, so it’ll be cool to see what he does. This could be one of the more exciting indie films to look forward to soon. We’ll certainly be hearing more about this as it further develops.
The untitled project has a reported 2017 release date.
