The first teaser trailer for Now You See Me 2 has been released and it brings back some of the same old fun hijinks, just with a few new twists. Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman are all returning for the sequel. Unfortunately Isla Fisher ins’t returning, but the fantastic Lizzy Caplan has stepped in as the final member of the Four Horseman, with Daniel Radcliffe being brought in to act the main antagonist this time around.
I am one who enjoyed the hell out of Now You See Me, being very entertained and having quite a bit of fun with what it was able to do. Why do you ask? Extravagant illusions and a heavy rely on the magical charisma of the main cast, and it paid off. Now why fix it if it’s not broken? The formula worked and worked well, so much so that Lionsgate is already working on a third film. As for the sequel, it seems to be sticking very close to home, continuing the same entertainment that made the original so fun.
Check out its first teaser below:
The trailer is jam-packed with goodies, including what looks like more action, but of course much bigger and flamboyant than its predecessor. All-in-all, the trailer is quite a bit of fun, but its best moment by far comes from its final shot. It’s pretty damn funny to see Radcliffe – the man behind the world’s most famous wizard – botch one of the world’s most simple magic tricks.
Here’s the official synopsis:
The Four Horseman (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan) return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe), a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.
Now You See Me 2 flashes into theaters on June 10th, 2016. Directed by Jon M. Chu starring Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Radcliffe, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman.
