From the moment Deadpool was (FINALLY) green-lit by 20th Century Fox, it has done a tremendous job of marketing itself with a variety of different things. It all began with that “leaked” test footage (that we all know wasn’t really leaked), then that hilarious Mario Lopez April Fool’s Joke, to the number of hilarious images, and now Halloween.
The latest step in building even more anticipation towards this film plays off the spooky holiday from this past weekend. Deadpool star (and most extreme backer) Ryan Reynolds released a video of himself in his Deadpool duds, as he attempts to assemble his own squad of superheroes for a little playful fun, a squad that includes some familiar faces from Marvel’s X-Men franchise. It’s a pretty big treat, check out Deadpool’s Halloween below:
I continue to love everything coming from this film. Seeing Deadpool curse at or with friends maybe isn’t the funniest thing in the world, but the fact that the kids are dressed up as fellow X-Men universe characters Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, and others make the gag that much better. It’s a great way to reemphasize that this character is in the larger X-Men world, not to mention once again letting us know just how nasty and cynical this character will be, which gets me extremely excited.
Tim Miller’s Deadpool slashes ints way into theaters on February 12th, 2016.
