The first official footage for the long-awaited Duncan Jones Warcraft has been released prior to the films first full-length trailer this Friday. It’s a short teaser to the trailer and does exactly what it should, tease. We get looks at both sides – the Alliance and the Horde – with a number of beautiful and quick action shots that reveal the world of Jones’ Warcraft.
In the past, I’ve heard many complain about the idea of a teaser for a teaser trailer (even I don’t like them all), but this is definitely one of the better ones. It’s a great first look at the film leading into the full trailer reveal this Friday.
Here’s the films official synopsis, followed by the newly released teaser poster:
The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
Warcraft has a June 10th, 2016 release date. Directed by Duncan Jones starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinskky and Daniel Wu.
