Probably the best part about X-Men: Days of Future Past was the Quicksilver character (played by Evan Peters). Fans everywhere (including myself) were left wanting more after his short, but memorable appearance.
Thankfully, Quicksilver will have an extended role in X-Men: Apocalypse beyond just an action sequence. You might remember in DOFP when the character teased his father, to his actual father (unknowingly) during his escape. It seems that will play a part in Apocalypse when we find Quicksilver, according to Evan Peters.
But the story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world.
I’m curious to see if Quicksilver knows who his father is when we first see him. What if he realizes his father (Magneto) is working with Apocalypse, and is forced to fight him. It’ll be something to look forward to once the film releases.
When asked if X-Men: Apocalypse will be the biggest X-Men movie to date, Peters hyped the film
Absolutely. It’s the biggest X-Men film. It’s about the apocalypse, so the scope of the film is huge.
Aside from a couple photos released at this year’s comic con, we’ve yet to see any footage. Bryan Singer is one of few directors who actively communicates with fans on upcoming films. Singer teased fans that a teaser trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse is coming soon.
Several editors are speculating the teaser could drop sometime this month around Thanksgiving. So those of you who’ve been wondering when we’ll see the first footage of X-Men Apocalypse, won’t have to wait much longer.
Some of the cast and crew are expected to report to Montreal in January for reshoots. Whats interesting is how a report from Le Journal de Montréal claims Hugh Jackman will be on hand for the shoots. Its my understanding that Jackman will not be appearing in the film, so this could be a post-credits teaser for Wolverine 3.
While an appearance from Jackman as Wolverine is always welcoming, X-Men:Apocalypse has already so much to offer with a new and younger cast, and a villain deadlier than ever.
X-Men: Apocalypse official synopsis: “Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”
