The long-awaited (real anyway) live-action adaptation of the beloved Goosebumps books is fast approaching. As it should, it has a release date around Halloween, which gives me a glimmer of hope towards this adventure comedy. To my own surprise, I really enjoyed its debut trailer and was sold on going to see the film. Now as it draws closer, the marketing campaign has jumped into releasing more than trailers, as a batch of clips have hit the web.
Like I said above, the first trailer for Goosebumps was very fun, one that probably surprised a lot of people. It seemed to have the perfect kind of approach towards this time of year movie, one that both children and adults can go to and enjoy. And even more to my own surprise, Jack Black looks like he could be a great choice as the character of R.L. Stine. Now I have and personally won’t watch the following clips, if you don’t know already, I’m someone who doesn’t like seeing much of the film before its actual release. But if you are someone who is still iffy on going to check it out and needs to be sold that much more, I recommend you taking a look at them below. You never know, they might change your perspective.
Now I don’t know when I’ll get the chance to check out Goosebumps, with my pretty hectic schedule and a few other names that are just prioritized above Goosebumps that weekend, but I’m looking forward to hopefully having some fun with it. Either way, I’ll be going to watch it as some point once it is released.
To help that cause, the films embargo has been released and the great site of Collider has poster their review. Now I must warn you, there are probably spoilers within the review if you do decide to read it, but I’ll also say that it’s much better than what I was expecting. I don’t want to give it away for anyone who doesn’t like knowing ahead of time, but if this review is telling towards its quality, it’s a very good sign.
Goosebumps opens October 16th, 2015. Directed by Rob Letterman starring Jack Black, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush, Halston Sage, and Amy Ryan.
