Robert Zemeckis isn’t really a well known director among the average movie-going audience, but he should be. The man behind the Back to the Future franchise, Forest Gump, Cast Away, and many more, he’s easily one of the best overall directors out there right now and one of my personal favorites.
Zemeckis’ new project, The Walk, stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and chronicles the true story of high-wire artist Philippe Petit, who in 1974 set out to complete his life-long dream, walk the void between the World Trade Center towers in New York City.
Just as most of Zemeckis’ films, The Walk looks beautiful, intense, and incredibly thrilling all at the same time. It’s truly a perfect subject for someone like Zemeckis to tackle, and with someone as great as JGL in the lead, this project has some well deserved buzz around it. And with it just a few weeks out now, the final marketing push is rolling with a bunch of new stuff showing off a bunch of new footage. Check out the extended IMAX trailer, a number of clips, and bts footage for The Walk below:
The Walk is set for October 2nd, 2015. Directed by Robert Zemeckis starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, James Badge Dale, and Ben Schwartz.
