Everybody likes to be a casting director these days, even me. I can’t tell you how many times I seen an actor/actress in a movie and think they’ll make a great superhero. Its a habit, and its fun. Arguably the most anticipated casting announcement fans are waiting for is Captain Marvel.
We’ve heard rumors with names like Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, and even Ronda Rousey circling the roles. Now, Heroic Hollywood (Umberto Gonzalez) has thrown us another name who is at the top of Marvel’s list.
Got a hot tip that Rebecca Ferguson, who is UBERHOT at the moment coming off Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is at the top of Marvel’s list to play Captain Marvel.
The report also supports the rumor by mentioning that Ferguson removed herself from the upcoming Gambit film, as the female lead. She could potentially be fishing for something big in the comic book genre, as the report states. Smart move, as Captain Marvel likely offers so much more, like a solo film.
I have no problem with this choice, and neither should you. Going into Rogue Nation, I was concerned with her filling the void left by Paula Patton from Ghost Protocol. She not only delivered, but surpassed whatever standards I had. She’s also the right age at 31 years old to play the character for the next 10-15 years. I’m predicting Captain Marvel to play a huge role in the M.C.U. (post Infinity War). The potential is enticing for any female actress.
This rumor is pending further confirmation. What do you guys think about Rebecca Ferguson possibly playing Captain Marvel?
Captain Marvel is scheduled to release in theaters on July 6, 2018.
