Ubisoft Motion Pictures’ Assassin’s Creed will play a crucial part in the near future for video games adaptations. The first official photo for the upcoming film shows Michael Fassbender as the main character Callum Lynch.
I think its very important this first photo makes a great impression, much like how Warcraft did, because both films are huge in paving the way for other adaptations. The costume looks great, and my early impression is that Fassbender is going to kill it (no pun).
Produce Frank Marshall confirmed (via. Twitter) that production on the film begins tomorrow (today). Justin Kruzel (Macbeth) and Marion Cortillard (Macbeth) will join Fassbender (Macbeth) for their second collaboration together. Their onscreen presence in the upcoming Shakespeare adaptation will give us a good indication of this film’s potential.
For those who are new to this upcoming project, here’s the official synopsis:
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
Assassin’s Creed will arrive in theaters on December 21, 2016.
Does the photo above give you confidence in Michael Fassbender leading this film?
