Straight Outta Compton had a number of remarkable performances, especially from its three main leads. Now two of them are set to reunite for Legendary’s Kong: Skull Island.
Jason Mitchell, the actor who blew audiences away with his portrayal as rapper Eazy-E has landed a role in the film. He’ll join his former co-star Corey Hawkins who played Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton. According to The Hollywood Reporter (who broke the news), Mitchell’s role is said to be an easy going pilot.
Love this casting, and it’ll be cool seeing Mitchell and Hawkins onscreen together. This will be a fun role for him. As for the film itself, Skull Island continues to develop nicely after losing Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons by making these solid casting additions. Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Toby Kebbell are set to star in a film that will explore the origins of Kong and his home island.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kings of Summer) will direct, with a script currently being re-written by Derek Connolly. Production will begin in late October for a March 10, 2017 release.
How excited are you to hear the casting of Jason Mitchell for Kong: Skull Island?
