See Jennifer Lawrence in a New Pair of Images & Poster for David O. Russell’s ‘Joy’

Nowadays we see many A-list actors and actresses sort of, ‘team-up’ with directors to make multiple movies – like Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg or Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese. Outside of those, there’s been one that’s been popping up a number of times over the last few years and doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon.

Jennifer Lawrence and David O. Russell have worked together on two Academy Award nominated films since 2012, Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. They are now ready to release their third and Russell’s latest film Joy has Lawrence in the leading role of a woman who becomes a matriarch of a powerful family business. The first trailer debuted a few weeks ago, but you can now get a few new looks at the film via these new images & its beautiful first poster.

At this point, I’m part of the minority that isn’t completely sold on this one yet. Although I absolutely adored Silver Linings Playbook and thought American Hustle was really good, I still need to see more on Joy to believe that this outing from Russell and Lawrence (and others like Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper) will be just as good. I’m sure it will be considering their history together and everyone who is involved, but I need another trailer or something to kick me over that line.

Joy is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces.

Joy opens on December 25th, 2015. Directed by David O. Russell starring Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Édgar Ramírez, and Bradley Cooper.
