First ‘Ride Along 2’ Trailer & Poster: The Brothers-in-Law Are Back

The Ice Cube and Kevin Hart 2014 comedy Ride Along wasn’t the biggest hit with critics, it wasn’t the biggest hit at the box-office either, but it did enough to get a sequel in the works. Now I personally had no idea a sequel was coming before a few days ago when its first trailer was released, it just came out of nowhere. Ride Along 2 brings back the duo of Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, with some help from others like Olivia Munn and Ken Jeong – check out its first trailer and poster below.

I didn’t hate the first Ride Along, but I didn’t love it either. It was kind of a one-and-done type comedy for me, I saw it once and that was enough. Meaning I didn’t care much to see a sequel or any kind of spin-off. But of course like every other studio movie hit, a sequel is made. And unfortunately but not surprising, I still don’t care much for a sequel even after watching the trailer. Sure it’s just a trailer and I’ll probably go check it out come next year, but the trailer just wasn’t that funny to me. I like Cube, Hart, and even Olivia Munn (wow), but it just didn’t work for me. With that said, that’s a good sign because I’ll go in with pretty low expectations and might walk out actually enjoying it – we’ll see.

As his wedding day approaches, Ben heads to Miami with his soon-to-be brother-in-law James to bring down a drug dealer who’s supplying the dealers of Atlanta with product.

Ride Along 2 has a January 15th, 2016 release date. Directed by Tim Story starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Olivia Munn, Ken Jeong, Tika Sumpter, and Benjamin Bratt.
