‘Mission: Impossible’ Honest Trailer: Franchise: Unkillable

Mission: Impossible is the kind of action franchise that can literally go on for decades. It’s currently in its second decade on the big screen and has only been getting better and better with each film. Now of course like every other kind of action franchise out there, there are the stereotype and cliche moments, and of course that’s totally cool because it totally works for these movies. But as this new Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies points out, the franchise is not only a bit receptive at times, but it just won’t go away, which is a really, really good thing.

SJ definitely has some great points, they do, but I can’t help but love what this franchise has been doing for the last decade. It’s become a completely fun and thrill ride franchise that everyone looks forward to when it comes out. Just as the Bond movies have their signature, the Mission: Impossible movies have slowly grown their own signature through the years, and they are just awesome.

The latest mission was just released this weekend, titled Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and once again starring (and crushing as always) Tom Cruise as IMF Agent Ethan. And let me just say, if you haven’t checked it out yet you are missing the f**k out. I’ve been going back and forth between Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation on which one is better, and as of right now I’m leaning towards Rogue Nation. Performances, story, villain, action/stunts – it’s all the best the franchise has seen thus far.

If you’ve gotten the chance to check it out, what did you think of Rogue Nation? How would you rank the movies in the franchise? What’s your favorite even if you haven’t seen Rogue Nation?
