Other than the fact that it felt like the debut trailer for The Martian was just jam-packed with footage, everything looks pretty damn good for Ridley Scott’s latest outing. But so far, the only problem revolving around it is Ridley Scott himself. Hard to believe, right? He has a rich history of great films, but over the last decade has seen him basically fall off the map and get the whole ‘Oh it’s okay, it’s Ridley Scott’ card, which is unfortunate because I’ve like everything I’ve seen from The Martian.

While Scott may be on the poo-list for now, there’s no doubt that he can put together an unbelievable cast. Led by Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain, this cast is one of the best of this year, which is definitely its biggest perk. And while these newest images (via Total Film) don’t show off the spectacular cast, they still give us some pretty intriguing looks at the sci-fi adventure movie.

No matter how the over film ends up, whether it’ good, bad or just ugly, one thing that’s guaranteed is that it will be a very beautiful looking film. Scott’s signature through the years has always been his looks and from the footage we’ve seen, The Martian has no shortage of that. Just the idea of The Martian marked this as one of my most looked forward movies of 2015, so I’m really holding out that Scott can get back to what he does and give us a great, even just good film.
