As far as Star Wars rumors go, this one is more likely to be true than others, and that’s not an often thing. So the first Star Wars Anthology film will be Rogue One. The film takes place between Episodes III & IV, and focuses on resistance soldiers stealing plans of the Death Star. Keeping that in mind, we are bound to see some familiar things in the Star Wars universe, including a small possible appearance from… Darth Vader.
This rumor comes from Devin Faraci over at Birth. Death. Movies. who is hearing this from a “good source“.
He will not be the main antagonist but he will be working behind the scenes, pulling strings and will appear onscreen. Literally, I’m told – he’ll be showing up via viewscreen or holo projection or something.
Whether this rumor is true or not, we should find out by Saturday during Lucasfilm’s panel at Comic Con. Still, this is an excellent opportunity for the studio to create major buzz surrounding their first anthology film, because “when its Star Wars does it get any bigger than Darth Vader”?
Felicity Jones is set to star in a lead role, with Forest Whitaker in talks for a supporting role.
Star Wars: Rogue One is scheduled for December of 2016.
