It’s another rare week in the world of movies where we have two major releases coming out on a Wednesday (yesterday) with the fifth film in the Terminator franchise and the sequel to the surprise hit Magic Mike. You can see Terminator: Genisys and Magic Mike XXL right now if you would like (depending on where you live). First check out the trailers and synopsis’ below to decide which one you’ll be seeing!
Terminator: Genisys starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke, directed by Alan Taylor.
John Connor sends Kyle Reese back in time to protect Sarah Connor, but when he arrives in 1984, nothing is as he expected it to be.
I’ve already seen Terminator: Genisys (you can read our review here) and to be honest it’s a fun, entertaining movie that I ended up liking. It’s not a great movie but it does a great job of incorporating elements from the past movies and showing us new stuff too. I would definitely check it out if you’re a Terminator fan!
Magic Mike: XXL starring Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello, directed by Gregory Jacobs.
Three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, he and the remaining Kings of Tampa hit the road to Myrtle Beach to put on one last blow-out performance.
I have not seen the first Magic Mike but I’ve heard from everyone that has that it’s surprisingly good. I respect Channing Tatum as an actor, especially of late, and I plan on eventually seeing both of these films even though it’s not exactly with my demographic. If you enjoyed the first one then Magic Mike: XXL should be worth a watch.
Well there you go! All you need to know about the major releases this week. Also in theaters still is Ted 2, Max, Inside Out, Dope, Jurassic World, Entourage, Insidious: Chapter 3, Spy, San Andreas and many others. Let us know what you’re going to see or if you’ve seen the latest releases!
