First Look: Jennifer Lawrence Reveals the First Image of ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2’

Yesterday saw a new poster released for the final entry into The Hunger Games, and now today we get our first official look at the film thanks to Jennifer Lawrence. Katniss herself took to her Facebook page to reveal the first image, which seems to be just the beginning of what we’ll see in the coming days.

In the image you can see the battle ready characters of Katniss (Lawrence), Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Mesalla (Evan Ross), and Finnick (Sam Claflin). She also included the caption of “6.9.15” and while that can point to anything, expect it to be the date the first full-length trailer is released. With the teaser poster yesterday and the first official image today, the stage at which its marketing is at calls for the first official trailer, as there has only been a teaser (with no footage) so far.

Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Evan Ross & Sam Claflin in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2'It’s a pretty fitting image, considering the kind of film we expect to see with Mockingjay – Part 2Part 1 was only a stepping stone for the epic scale this movie promises to be, and this photo should be able to quench the thirst of fans until that first full trailer is released.

I know that this franchise is absolutely loved by many fans, but I am part of the minority that was just a bit disappointed with Mockingjay – Part 1. But that doesn’t damper my excitement for this final chapter at all, I know what’s coming and I’m excited as all hell for it, especially since I haven’t read the books.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 hits theaters on November 20th, 2015. Directed by Francis Lawrence starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Natalie Dormer, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland.
