The New ‘Ant-Man’ Poster Is an Upgrade From the Last

When the first official poster for Marvel’s Ant-Man was released a few weeks back, it’s safe to say that the response was a littler underwhelming. Not only was a whole lot of stuff bunched up into a one sheet, it was the basic and same thing we’ve seen from Marvel from their entire Phase Two slate of movies. Each poster of the last so many movies has had the same look and feel, so it was a bit disappointing to see one of Marvel’s new characters get the same treatment as the already established ones.

But luckily for us, that’s not the case in the newest one. Marvel released the poster on their official Ant-Man twitter page, and it gives us a better and much more interesting look at the tiny hero.

'Ant-Man' Poster

Much better then the first, for sure. The first felt very cluttered and just put together on the fly. This one does exactly what a poster should, capture the movie or a character in one single frame. It teases us as to what’s to come this July. It’s also another great look at Ant-Man’s suit and its many features, including being able to ride his greatest allies into battle.

I know a lot of movie-goers are shaking their heads at the idea of a superhero called Ant-Man, but this movie has a lot going for it. Most importantly, it’s Marvel. It comes from the studio that has created an unthinkable movie universe, the same studio that absolutely crushed the concept of that other crazy idea in Guardians of the Galaxy. Then you add in the talent of director Peyton Reed, those who took over the rewriting duties, and stars like Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglass – Ant-Man should definitely be on many summer watch-lists.

Ant-Man shrinks into theaters July 17th, 2015. Directed by Peyton Reed starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglass, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, T.I., Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Haley Atwell, and John Slattery.
