For those of you who don’t know, a remake of the Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze action/thriller Point Break is getting a remake. The first official look at the movie was released somewhere around a month ago, and while those two images focused on the two leads (Luke Bracey and Édgar Ramírez), this first teaser poster brings the attitude of the movie.
Bracey takes up the role of young FBI Agent Johnny Utah as he goes undercover with a group of thrill seeking bank robbers who pull off their crimes with extreme stunts. Ramírez is the adrenalin junkie character Bodhi this time around, formerly played by Swayze.

This remake is definitely going to have to do whatever it can to not only up the ante from the original, but to just try and match what Dominic Toretto and team are doing in that little Fast & Furious franchise. The original Point Break isn’t the best film of all time, but it’s a kick ass action movie and a serious guilty pleasure among many movie-watchers. Did there need to be a remake? No, not really. But I’m pretty open to the idea considering the kind of stunts (practical and CGI) that happen today. Hopefully this remake can be as exciting and just as fun as the original was.
Point Break hits theaters on December 25th, 2015. Directed by Ericson Core starring Luke Bracey, Édgar Ramírez, Teresa Palmer, Ray Winstone, and Delroy Lindo.
