Here are a number of new clips for the Melissa McCarthy led comedy Spy, the reboot to the horror classic Poltergeist, the very well received indie film Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, and the threequel of the horror franchise Insidious.
Each of these has something positive going for it in my book. Although I’m not a big fan of Melissa McCarthy, early screenings of Spy have the word of mouth actually very high, which comes to a surprise to me. Going along the lines of rebooting classic 80s movies, that continues with Poltergeist. And even though most reboots can’t really live up to the original, this reboot has a solid chance. The cast is great and the trailers so far have been pretty exciting. I’m not expecting the best horror movie reboot of all time, but I have some good hope for this one.
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is the one on this list that you should be looking forward. More than likely you haven’t heard of it because it’s a low budget indie film, but I’m recommending that you search for the trailer immediately. It’s gotten such positive reviews towards it that it landed a release date within the next few weeks. And plus it’s an indie film, that alone is enough. And finally there’s Insidious: Chapter 3, and you may be thinking to yourself that horror threequels tend to just not be as good. That could very well be the case with this one, but it is reinventing it all. It’s going back to the beginning and changing things up a bit, which could bode pretty well for it.
