A Massive ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Gallery of Set Images Feature Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon, Scarlet Witch & Villain Crossbones!

Ant-Man may be the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to be hitting the screen and although it’s being looked forward to very much, there’s no doubt that Captain America: Civil War is on EVERYONE’S mind. Following the results of Avengers: Age of UltronCivil War seems to be the next team-up movie slated, and even bigger than any Avengers movie so far.

And even though it’s still a year away (so far away!) and following that giant official press release, here are a load of new behind-the-scene images from the set of Civil War! And let me tell ya, they are freaking AWESOME. Featuring (Age of Ultron SPOILER) three of the members of the New Avengers: Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen); as well as our first look at the movies villain Crossbones, played by Frank Grillo (Brock Rumlow from Captain America: The Winter Soldier).

The images come from a various amount of outlets, with a bulk of the set coming from Just Jared. Without further ado, check out the MASSIVE gallery below!

It’s all great, so freaking great. The Avenger team members aren’t anything to really talk about, it’s just so cool to see. The only thing that really needs to be talked about it Crossbones. For those of you who don’t know, Crossbones was birthed from The Winter Soldier. Frank Grillo was cast as Brock Rumlow and every comic fan knew what that mean. But for those who don’t, Brock Rumlow eventually turns into the villain Crossbones, who you can see above. His character seemed to die during the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the falling of the Triskelion building in the finale of The Winter Soldier, but he survived and the transformation began. Going from a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent (really HYDRA) to the big bad villain of Civil War and I can’t wait to see how it all turns out, especially since the character plays a HUGE role in the Civil War comic book storyline.

As for the costume, it’s really good. His comic counterpart wear more of a military style outfit with his classic mask, and after how burnt and beaten Rumlow ended up following The Winter Soldier, this costume makes sense. It pays great justice to the classic costume while also updating it to fit this universe and style. My guess, the suit could end up being some kind of super suit that helps him live or gives him his strength, a la Darth Vader or Bane. One thing is for sure, Crossbones will by far be the most dangerous, lethal, and formidable foe for Cap and team yet.

Captain America: Civil War is currently in production and set for a May 6th, 2016 release date. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman.
