I don’t know about you, but Terminator: Genisys has steadily been rising up my summer list. Even though it looks like a major plot twist could’ve (more than likely not) been spoiled from recent marketing, I’m still very much looking forward to the new take on Terminator. Could this be the return to the franchise that we’ve been waiting for? We’ll have to wait until July to find out, but until then, here’s a surprisingly awesome new poster to hold over the wait.
I really dig this new poster. It shows off the most interesting angle Genisys has to offer. Nothing about this Terminator movie looks like anything we’ve seen before as it promises to shake up the timeline with some very unexpected twists (just check out the last trailer), just like the new tagline says: New Mission. New Fate. But as for that interesting angle, we’ve seen Sarah Connor and the T-800 work together before (remember that tense camaraderie in T2?), but never like the father-daughter relationship teased throughout the trailers for Genisys. And hopefully it can deliver in a true Terminator way.
Here’s the official synopsis for Genisys:
When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…
Terminator: Genisys opens July 1st, 2015. Directed by Alan Taylor starring Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Byung-hun Lee, J.K. Simmons, Matt Smith, and Courtney B. Vance.
