The Latest Trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Crimson Peak’ Highlights Its Chilling & Dark Tone; A Few New Images Released As Well

Before seeing an image, poster, or any kind of footage, I had Guillermo del Toro’s horror movie in my ten most anticipated movies of 2015. Crimson Peak was actually scheduled for fall of last year, but got moved back to this fall because del Toro said it wouldn’t be ready. Now with it just five months away, we’ve gotten two solid teasers and some images and posters. But now, now we’re really getting the chance to see some stuff. A new trailer and a batch of new images have been released, and they really delve into del Toro’s haunted mansion movie.

Here’s the official synopsis:

When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.

This new trailer is so good. I didn’t really know how far ‘horror’ it would go, but it looks like it’s definitely going to have it’s creepy and scary elements, which gets me even more excited. It’s a del Toro movie so that means this world he’s created inside this haunted mansion is going to be off the charts interesting, but I’m looking forward to seeing these characters even more. Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, and Charlie Hunnam are all going to bring some great stuff to the table, with the sister-brother duo of Chastain and Hiddleston’s characters the most compelling out of the bunch.

Along with the trailer, a batch of new images have been released as well, which bring just as much chills and darkness as the trailer.

Crimson Peak opens up October 16th, 2015. Directed by Guillermo del Toro starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, and Charlie Hunnam.
