4 Movies I’m Looking Forward to in May

The summer movie season has officially begun! May has always been the beginning of the summer season, where studios try to release their biggest and most confident projects. May of last year saw a number of movies just run through and dominate, and this year looks to be no different. May 2015 is stacked with highly, highly anticipated movies, which should end up being one incredible start to the summer season. Here are the four I’m looking forward to the most.

4. Aloha

Synopsis:

A celebrated military contractor returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs and re-connects with a long-ago love while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watchdog assigned to him.

I enjoyed the hell out of this trailer when it premiered, it just has a certain feel and magic about it. Not only is it Cameron Crowe, but it features an A-list cast that will get anybody to the theater. In a month full of giant, action-packed movie, this rom-com should definitely be a fun and lighter movie to take in.

Aloha opens on May 29th, 2015.

3. Tomorrowland

Synopsis:

Bound by a shared destiny, a teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor embark on a mission to unearth the secrets of a place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory.

This time last year, there’s no way I would’ve believed that I’d be looking forward to a movie based on a theme park. Fast forward to now, I’m excited as all hell. A action-packed, beautiful, and entertaining sci-fi thriller that you could get lost in while watching.

Tomorrowland is released on May 22nd, 2015.

2. Mad Max: Fury Road

Synopsis:

In a post-apocalyptic world, in which people fight to the death, Max teams up with a mysterious woman, Furiousa, to try and survive.

The return of Mad Max is here and in a big freaking way. Each trailer that’s released is insanely better than the first, which is just unimaginable. In a matter of months this movie has gone from not really being known by movie-goers across the world, to becoming one of this year’s most anticipated movies, number four on my list. George Miller is back with Tom Hardy taking over the mantle of Max and Charlize Theron as his co-pilot, f**k yeah.

Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters May 15th, 2015.

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron

Synopsis:

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and it is up to the Avengers to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plans.

How can this not number one? It’s number two on my most anticipated list and has a very high chance of being this year’s biggest movie in multiple categories, and will most likely end up on the all-time list just as the first did. It does help when I saw it last night, twice. All I can say is that you should run as fast as you ever have straight to the nearest theater (I recommend IMAX) and buy a ticket to the next show. The scale is bigger, the stakes are higher, and a Marvel movie has never been more fun.

Avengers: Age of Ultron was released today, May 1st, 2015.
