Before the first images and trailer were released for Disney and Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland, it just wasn’t really seen how a movie based on theme park rides could work. But once those first pieces of concept art and trailer hit the web, boom, Tomorrowland became one of 2015s most looked forward to movies.
Since then, it’s only raised the bar without really giving away much footage and anything about the true plot. It looks beautiful, exciting, interesting, and a really fun sci-fi adventure story. With now less than a month away, a brand new trailer has been released. Again, not showing a whole lot of Tomorrowland, rather the events leading up to it. Like how badass Mr. Clooney’s house is set up, check it out.
Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as “Tomorrowland.”
I enjoyed the hell out of this trailer. It’s just so much fun! I feel like a kid walking through Disneyland while watching it. We get the perfect sense of exactly what kind of movie this will be, just take my money already!
I really like how the marketing has been focusing more on the characters and the events leading up to ‘Tomorrowland’, really keeping how it looks and what it is pretty tightly under wraps for now. I’m sure as we near its release date, we’ll get more looks at what Tomorrowland looks through footage instead of images and posters. But if not, I’d be totally cool without it. I would love to sit down that day I watch it and experience the beauty of that world for the first time right then and there. It’s rare to see movies keep things behind closed doors for this long nowadays, so it’s a bit of sigh of relief. Either way, I cannot wait to travel to Tomorrowland.
Along with the new trailer above, the last few weeks have seen new featurettes and TV spots released for the sci-fi adventure, which I’m sure are just the beginning of its marketing.
Also, here’s the first batch of character posters featuring George Clooney and Britt Robertson, among others. Included is the newly released poster, which could end up being the final poster.
The character posters are cool. I mean, I guess I would’ve liked to seen something different put together for each instead of the characters just laid over top of the same image, but whatever. The real sell is the actual poster, which displays the beauty and scope we’ll be traveling to when watching this movie.
Tomorrowland has a May 22nd, 2015 release date. Directed by Brad Bird starring George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Kathryn Hahn, and Keegan-Michael Key.
