Below you can see newly released clips for the comedy sequel Ted 2 from Seth McFarlane, the highly looked forward to Paper Towns from those behind The Fault in Our Stars, another comedy sequel in Pitch Perfect 2 which brings back the Barden Bellas, and the cyber/horror movie Unfriended.
Ted 2
Synopsis: Newlywed couple Ted and Tami-Lynn want to have a baby, but in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he’s a person in a court of law.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the original Ted and although I somewhat enjoyed the first trailer for the sequel, there’s still that thing about comedy sequels rarely, rarely ever working. So yeah, I do hope Ted 2 can give me some good laughs, but I won’t be going in with the highest expectations.
Ted 2 opens on June 26th, 2015.
Paper Towns
Synopsis: A young man and his friends embark upon the road trip of their lives to find the missing girl next door.
The first trailer for Paper Towns actually caught me off-guard and I really liked it. I’ve heard great things about the story from the book and the team in place seems to be the right pick following the success of The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns could end up just as good, maybe better.
Paper Towns is released on July 24th, 2015.
Pitch Perfect 2
Synopsis: A collegiate a cappella group called the Barden Bellas enter into an international competition that no American team has ever won before.
I’ll admit that I was pleasantly surprised with the first Pitch Perfect, it was definitely a lot funnier than I was expecting. But I will also admit that I don’t really need a sequel, but with a movie that had both critic and box-office success, of course it’s going to get a sequel. So do I need it? No. Am I hoping it does well and is entertaining? Sure.
Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters May 15th, 2015.
Unfriended
A group of online chat room friends find themselves haunted by a mysterious, supernatural force using the account of their dead friend.
Cyber is starting to take over the movie world. We are now seeing more movies based around the ‘cyber’ world than ever before, with this time jumping into horror. Instead of giving us another teenager slasher movie, Unfriended is that teenage slasher movie, but happens over Skype. A weird but interesting twist, right? Yeah, the concept sounds a bit dumb, but it actually doesn’t look bad. And from a few early reviews, it might be better than we expect it to be.
Unfriended has a April 17th, 2015 release date.
