A Marvel film experience at the theaters isn’t complete without some sort of post credits clip. Ever since Samuel L. Jackson appeared as Nick Fury and set Tony Stark straight in Iron Man, its become sort of a trend set popular by Marvel. Well it looks like part of that trend may be over.
Entertainment Weekly spoke with both Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige who both confirmed that Age of Ultron will have no post credits scene.
“There is nothing at the very end. And that’s not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don’t sit there for 10 minutes and then go: ‘Son of a b***h! I’ll kill them!’
Very accurate words as far as comic book die hard fans are concerned. Just kidding guys. Now this doesn’t mean there won’t be a mid credits clip at the end of the film. Both guys confirmed that there will be, but they are giving us a courtesy heads up not to waste 10 minutes of our lives by staying till the very end.
Honestly, I was never really fond of waiting out those long credit rolls. To me, the mid credits scenes were always the more entertaining ones. Whether it was Tony Stark walking into a bar as the General says “Reload” for another drink (something I’ve done before), or more recently The Twins being introduced. I actually thought the mid credits scenes were more important and entertaining.
So now that we know there will only be one post credits scene, Marvel needs to make it count. Whether its introducing us to a new Spider-Man, seeing Hulk shot out to space, or Ant-Man getting a marketing boast. It’ll be interesting to see which route they go.
What do you think the mid credits scene will be?
