New ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Casting: Young Actor Ben Hardy Cast, but Who Will He Play?

We have been getting a lot of X-Men: Apocalypse castings in the last month-or-so. Particularly all young actors and actresses with the first three announced all together (Tye Sheridan (Mud) as Scott Summers aka Cyclops, Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) as Jean Grey and Alexandra Shipp as  Ororo Munroe aka Storm) and a singular casting announced last week (Kodi Smit-McPhee as a young Nightcrawler), we now receive news that actor Ben Hardy( from the British soap opera, EastEnders) is joining the cast as well.

We have seen this pattern of very young talent being cast in this upcoming film which makes sense since it will take place in the 80’s and Professor X will most likely be recruiting his young X-Men who, one would assume, will be around for years to come.

Who Hardy will be playing has not been announced liked the previous castings but it is said to be an important role. Since a lot of these X-Men will be young recruits there are a few possibilities that come to mind. A lot people are online are speculating he could be playing the character Angel who was previously portrayed by Ben Foster in X-Men 3: The Last Stand. With similar looks to Foster this could definitely be the case. However, there are so many X-Men characters that Fox has not even used in their films and it could be any character and who’s to say it couldn’t be a villain. A lot of these character castings have been on the hero side and Apocalypse might need some minions to help take on the X-Men or Magneto might be putting his own team together.

Either way X-Men: Apocalypse is shaping up to be a large ensemble cast like its predecessor and hopefully it works out just as well. What character do you guys think Ben Hardy could play? And are you familiar with the actor at all? Because I’m not. Sound off on your thoughts in the comment section.
