These days, we are seeing a ton of older television shows being turned into feature films. The Mission: Impossible franchise, The A-Team, the Jump Street franchise, and The Equalizer. It’s definitely something solid as the idea and blueprint is already there to build from. This year sees The Man from U.N.C.L.E. hitting the big screen, which is based off the 1960s TV show with the same name. With the announcement of its first trailer hitting tonight, here’s the first poster and a group of new images.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. stars Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, among others. Here’s a synopsis:
In the early 1960s, CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Cavill) and KGB operative Illya Kuryakin (Hammer) participate in a joint mission against a mysterious criminal organization, which is working to proliferate nuclear weapons.
Here’s the new set of images:
Although the Sherlock Holmes (only seen a handful) movies are probably the only movies I actually like of Guy Ritchie’s, I’m very much looking forward to this one. I’ve obviously never seen the TV show, but it seems like a very cool premise. Plus, how can you not be interested in a movie starring Henry Cavill at this point? Then his co-star being Armie Hammer, the rising actress of Alicia Vikander, and two great names in Hugh Grant and Jared Harris. I have yet to see any footage, but just from the images I’m digging the look, feel, and vibe of it so far (almost James Bond-esque). Hopefully seeing the trailer later tonight will keep my excitement going, because I always love a good spy story.
Here’s the first official poster as well:
As I said above, come back later for the first official The Man from U.N.C.L.E. trailer.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is set for August 14th, 2015. Directed by Guy Ritchie starring Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki, Hugh Grant, and Jared Harris.
